Bahrain’s unrest claimed more than 60 lives. the court found the two officers guilty of torturing a protester to death in February 2011, shortly after the Shiite majority began an uprising demanding greater political rights in the Sunni-ruled kingdom. Three other officers were acquitted in the case.
